Rene Descartes methodic doubt

INTRODUCTION The notion of how knowledge is acquired has continue to chose a fundamental controversy in Philosophy which has led to the emergence of two schools of thoughts; the rationalists and empiricists. The former affirms the acquisition of knowledge through reason unaided by experience while the later adhered to sense experience as the means by which knowledge is acquired. Despised this two conflicting doctrines, Immanuel Kant tries to reconcile or rather is swift to strike a balance. Between these two schools of thoughts knowledge can be acquired through both ways. However, in line with these opposing doctrines their surveys seeks to examine the rationalists view of this notions in a particular respect to one of the Philosophers namely Rene Descartes. Rene Descartes is our key study in this work and will look into  his major philosophical work concerning knowledge. More so, in order to have a better understanding of our subject at hand, this work will give us an inkling...

Democracy Comes To Nigeria ( published by: Dabo Euclid)

By Osuolale Alalade The struggle of the Goodluck Jonathan administration to entrench itself in power or engineer the takeover of an interim administration has a historical context. Notwithstanding the many paradoxes thrown up by the sad state of affairs, the dilemma that Nigerians face represent an encouraging turn of democratic advancement of the country. In 1993, the Nigeria Army, as the guarantor of northern hegemonic pretension with a very deceptive “maradona” General Ibrahim Babaginda at the helm of affairs, nullified what remain the fairest and most transparent democratic elections in the country. By this treasonable act, the northern dominated military brought the country close to the very edge of the precipice. Accordingly, 12 June, the anniversary of those elections, in the minds of the true progressive nationalists, has since remained the watershed for democratic entry into the Nigerian political firmament. The final outcome of June 12 saga was ...

SOUTHERN KADUNA: El-Rufai talks too much, Doing nothing to stop Killings – APC Chieftain

A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Alhaji Isa Ciroma, has debunked Governor Nasir El-Rufai’s claim that the wanton killings and destruction of lives and property in Southern Kaduna is connected to the 2011 post-election violence. Ciroma denied the claim while fielding questions from journalists in Kafanchan, stressing that the killings in Southern Kaduna had nothing to do with the 2011 post-election violence that was fought in many parts of Northern Nigeria. “There is no record of Fulani herders from Mali or elsewhere coming to Southern Kaduna as Governor El-Rufai claimed. The Fulani I know in Southern Kaduna are the Kachechere people. “The Fulani men they said intruded in Southern Kaduna, l don’t know them. I have not seen them and I don’t talk to them. They could be there but I don’t see them,” Ciroma added. “l am 60 years of age and l have been living in Southern Kaduna. If there is anything like foreign Fulanis ...

Arrest of Some Judges.

By Ikechukwu Nnochiri ABUJA – The Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mr. Abubakar Malami, SAN, Tuesday, justified the arrest and detention of judges by operatives of the Department of State Service, DSS, saying “no one is or should be above the law”. Malami, who had on Monday, shunned a valedictory court session the Supreme Court held in honour of one of its retired Justices, Suleiman Galadima, broke his silence on the matter after he inaugurated an Expert Review Committee on implementation of the United Nations Convention Against Corruption (UNCAC). Asked about his view on the raid and subsequent arrest of seven superior court Judges, including two Justices of the Supreme Court, Malami said: “Was there an allegation of crime? Was there relevant provision of criminal procedure responsible for investigation? “Is there an allegation of corruption? If there is, no body, no matter how highly placed will be spared. ...

WHY I DO NOT TAKE COMMENTARIES FROM KADUNA NORTH BEYOND A SHOW OF IGNORANCE (publish by: Dabo Euclid)

By J.F. Dabo With the prevailing case in southern Kaduna, a much marginalized and victim of what I call a 'religio-political', sectional, bias, unjust and hateful system from those who ordinarily should be call brothers. The Hausa-fulani of Kaduna State, Nigeria. What one sees today possess a question, is the education in northern Nigeria different from the normal education we ordinarily expect a fellow to have in this 21st century? How comes the Southern Kaduna who goes to the north to be educated comes out as expected but the northern kaduna youth mostly comes out worst than he went? This second question will reveal then that their is a plan with which the subject is educated. Immediately I ask such question I find it pitiful that a youth would be made to grow as majority of northern Kaduna youth grow. And to think that this is planned by the very same old men who should be wise and wish well their offsprings. Sadly, this old men are going to the grave building a hell fo...

TO THE NIGERIAN WORKERS WITH PARTICULAR REFERENCE TO THE SOUTHERN KADUNA WORKER ON THE 2016 WORKER'S DAY Sunday May 1 2016

. By: Jubal Free-man Dabo Jubalfreemandabo@gmail.com +2348074962224 working is what wedding is to marriage and marriage is what retirement days is to working days. Most spend all their earnings during working their days thereby spending their benefits paying for the recklessness of the working days. It is said that we should cut our coat according to our size, but to the worker I say "cut your coat a little less than your size" to mean spend less at your wedding (working days) that you will enjoy your marriage (retirement life) well. On a day like this we need to reflect on the role of the Nigerian workers, their strength and weaknesses, challenges and the way forward not only for the nation but as well for the worker. Amidst the merry of the day we must spare out time to reflect and see how we will better achieve proficiency. The day is mend for all workers but I shall limit my reflection to the southern Kaduna workers. Not withstanding, this too would cast light to w...

BROKE BOUND: THEY ARE NOT FULANI HERDSMEN BUT TERRORIST TREAT THEM sO [Hospitality is the guilt of my ancestors for which I am killed]

Introduction Nigeria is undergoing a systematic death agender tending toward a complete destruction of the state. We become ever confused over what to face as what is before us and against us is much more stronger it seems than we can face. More worrisome is the fact that this is perpetuated by Nigerians against Nigerians. This problem stems from our poor approach to the challenges before us. We have failed to approach the problem as against Nigeria, rather we build up affiliations that makes it even more difficult to salvage the situation. The terrorist is protected by a tag from a bound ordinarily his crimes have broken. Is it the Biafaran movement that brought the Civil war, Book Haram Issue that have so much destroyed the state of the nation, the Niger Delter militancy that destroyed our resources and international relations or the most recent suspected Fulani herdsmen gullira night attacks that have rendered our state a death zone that is not a pointer to the above claim? Sadly...

ZAZZAU EMIRATE DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATION (ZEMDA) : REPUDIATING FALSEHOOD AND PUTTING THE RECORDS STRAIGHT (publish by: Dabo Euclid)

By: Jubal Freeman Dabo                       INTRODUCTION The Southern Kaduna People's Union (SOKAPU) is compelled to once more present to the world an objective perspective of the unfortunate occurances in southern KADUNA as falsely contained in ZEMDAs widely publicised advertorial of 6th March 2017 (Thisday Newspaper). It is no longer news that the Southern Senatorial Zone of Kaduna Sate, Nigeria has continued to suffer great tragedy for a long time now, we have lost our brothers, sisters, parents and even grand parents to these heinous attacks. We have equally lost properties worth billions of Naira. Our land is filled with widows, widowers, orphans, worst of all orphans as young as two weeks old. Sorrow and sadness have become the second nature of the people of Southern Kaduna. Unfortunately, while this crisis is going on govern...
