RELEVANCE OF THE STUDY OF AESTHETICS (BY:EUCLID DABO ICEKING)

           It was a German philosopher, Alexander Gottieb Baumgarten who in 1735 introduced the term, Aesthetics though the nature of beauty had earlier been studied. Aesthetics is a branch of philosophy that deals with the essence and perception of the beautiful (and the ugly) as opposed to the moral and the useful. It also deals with the question of whether these qualities are objectively inherent in the objects in which they are perceived or just in the mind of the one who perceives it. This branch of philosophy also deals with issue of whether the objects in question have in themselves special qualities or there are modes, the aesthetics modes, by which these qualities are perceived.
