I ACCEPT THE EXISTENCE OF SUPER HUMAN FORCES BUT I REJECT THE BELIEVE THAT NIGERIAN IS A VICTIM OF SUPER HUMAN FORCES FOR NIGERIAN LACKS PHILOSOPHERS AND NOT RELIGIOUS MEN* By *JF. Dabo* 17/09/2017 Jubalfreemandabo@gmail.com
Question the sincerity of thoughts here if this small piece ends with "Support JF.Dabo for Presidency 2019". Otherwise, think this sunday morning thought along with me. I have had reasons like i still do to call Nigeria a 'multibless' nation for everything she has is rich and in excess. Relevant to this thought is the ever existance of many religious men and women, mighty ones at that. Set eyes on your TV set today and you will record series of miracles from all over Nigeria. You will record influx of men and women from other mighty nations of the world who will come not for businesses but in search of healing and miracles. This established to you the fact as recorded in one of my December 2015 writings that " It is either this holy men are not truly holy men, or that the problem with Nigeria is not lack of holy men". I accept the fact that there are forces that are beyond man, but I do not believe that such forces are responsible for Nigeria's challenges for even if the holy men are not truly holy, there are these little ones of God whose presence among us and their innocence alone is enough for God to protect and preserve Nigeria. Again, God is not too wicked to allow powers beyond us deal us this dirty blow, but again he is not so much a promoter of irresponsibility to always leave his Godly functions and settle for humanly functions. In as much as he can do all things, he will not do what we can do for ourselves.
It was my father and ancestor PLATO who wrote that "there will be no end to the troubles of states, or of humanity itself, until philosophers become kings in this world, or till those we now call kings and rulers really and truly become philosophers, and political power and philosophy thus come into the same hands". This is not to say that as carateria for political positions one should have a degree in Philosophy, no, for after all not all who have a degree -,certificate in Philosophy that are philophers. May be a market place definition of Philosophy will be of help: on a lighter note, Philosophy is define as " asking questions and questioning answers until we arrive at answers that are unquestionable or questions that are unanswerable ". The questions that will be unanswerabe are what we submit to the power above, the answers we find as unquestionable are things we believe without doubt. By effect, this means that with the thinking being, there is no problem without a solution. It is either his thought gives him the conviction that this is the best solution to this problem, or that his thinking convince him into accepting the fact that this problem is for God to solve and not man hence, total fruitful faith. So, when Plato talk of Kings becoming phliophers or philosophers become kings, he sue for a leadership style that THINKS, this kind of leadership lacks errors in decision.
Nigeria lacks no holy men, Nigeria lacks no miracles. Nigeria in fact have a lot of religious men and women, call her a reservoir of religious men and that will be and undisputable fact. But Nigeria lacks Philosophy Kings, she lacks leaders who think. Not because there are no thinkers but because her politics is fashioned in such a way that thinkers are far from the house of political power. Worse of all, her legislative arm that is suppose to be the most of all thinking hall in the nation is overtaken by ex governors, men and women who required such legislative role not because they have something to offer to Nigeria more than to gain some powers that will grant them immunity from facing the fruits of their unholy corrupt practices while as Governors. Our National Assembly have been turned into a protection shrine for mighty men that should be behind bars for their destruction of Nigeria. Our state houses of accembly on the other hand gives a pathetic sight when we turn to look. Most have been turned disfunctional. They are at plenary just to approve budgets that will be used without explanation. Nice gestures like beautiful packages from their respective governors bought and caged their thinking caps, and the minority who still think are not allow the oxygen to breath among the majority thinkless beings.
*GOD WILL NOT SAVE NIGERIA*
I do not think their is any divine plan to save Nigeria from her decay, this I so think because I know, the power responsible for nature is never identified with contradiction. As all nature follow a unique design so is the interaction of this divine power with the human world. Our problems are problems we can solve for ourselves if we so wish to. God have never in the old or new testament granted man a wish that he (man) can grant himself, God have always provided man with only such that he (man) cannot provide for self.
Each time I talk this way, people quickly remind me of how God provided food (Manna) for his people in the old testament. But I quickly remind them too that in fact it was not just the bread but also meat and co that God provided his people in the Exodus 16 account. But I also quickly note that this people were not in Egypt, nor where they in the promised land, this miracle happened in fact after the had left Elim and were at the desert of sin which is between Elim and Sinai. Their condition then was such that they cannot provide for themselves for that was not their land, non of them own a farm or house there, no market to buy from and no one to even beg from. So there they had no ability to provide for themselvds. Even when God provided for them, they had to gather, after that, there was no manna again when the arrived their destination. In the new testament on the other hand, Jesus needed bread and fish, works of human hands to be able to feet the five thousand. So there is no miracle that will happen with the challenges in Nigeria because these are things we can solve for ourselves and by ourselves.
If it is the case of security challenge, it is not spirits that challenge our security but men who are living among us, are our brothers and friends and we reserve the ability to arrest that situation.
If it is about the poverty of the nation, it is not something extra ordinary that brought us to this ugly end but human unholy activities, we know these men and women, we reserve the ability to deal with that.
If it is the issue of corruption, we the corrupt men and women live in the human society, we know ourselves, we reserve the ability to deal with that.
...
Sadly many will rather misuse the time they should go out there to face this ills in the name of praying. No, some things do not need prayer but action. It is like an applicant who set out for job hunt, he met and submitted copies of his CV to 15 institutions, private and public out of which 5 gave him a text message each calling him for interview, and this guy will not attend any invitation to such interview but would rather kneel down to pray at exactly that time he should be facing the panel for his job interview. Or it is like a hungry man who on the way saw a yellow mango up the tree and decided to go up the tree only to touch the mango and when he confirmed it was truly ripped, he came down and began gathering stones with which he hopes to fetch the mango for his consumption. That is the worse form of folly you know!
We do not need holy men for we have them more than enough, what we need is a thinking leadership. Until we arrive at an age, when we accept the fact that we need thinking beings. Nigeria is far from being saved, that is a fact, but Nigeria has all it takes to be saved.
*I look forth to those days therefore when:*
Nigerian leaders shall be Thinking before acting,
The Nigerian institutions shall be occupied by patriots and true statemen and women,
Appointments to political offices and elections will be more on merits than showing appreciation or meeting contract terms,
Our leaders shall appoint aids that will lead them into knowing the true needs of the people and not cover them from knowing the true society the should know,
Our justice system shall know no mercy, bribe, or corruption,
Nigeria shall be govern without sentiments,
We all shall be first Nigerian before becoming Igbos, Hausa, Yoruba, Tiv, Atyap, Nupe, Igala, Christian, Muslim, Buddhist, Traditionalists, APC, PDP ...
*NIGERIA DO NOT NEED MEN OF GOD FOR THEY ARE THERE ALREADY; SHE NEED MEN OF GOODWILL THAT THINK AND PROFFER SOLUTIONS*
